» When is the best time to travel in Chile?

Generally speaking, the best travel time for all of Chile is spring and summer of the Southern Hemisphere (end of September to beginning of May). Travelling in the Northern region and Easter Island is possible throughout the whole year. In southern Chile rainfalls in winter (June to August) are especially frequent. Santiago and its surroundings experience a temperate Mediterranean climate with a hot summer and mild winter. Special local climate conditions are pointed out in our travel descriptions (e.g. Bolivian winter in January/February in the Altiplano).

» How do I pay?

Once your booking is confirmed by us, we ask you to make a deposit of 100 USD per person. If different payment conditions apply, you will be notified before your booking. We accept payments by VISA-, MasterCard- and Diners- credit cards. Transfers to one of our accounts in USA, Chile or Germany are also accepted. Full payment must be effected at least 60 days prior to the travel date (date of receipt of payment). All payments must be made in US $; prices are subject to change. Currently you do not need a visa, if you are from Western Europe, North America, South America (except for Bolivia), Australia, New Zealand or Japan. Please consult with the Chilean embassy for Anulations with other countries. You do need a valid passport, which should be valid at least 6 more months after entering Chile. Citizens of the following countries have to pay an entry fee at the Chilean Customs office. Please note, the amount corresponds to the amount Chileans have to pay in the respective countries: United States (USD 100), Canada (USD 55), Mexico (USD 22), Australia (USD 30). Visa regulations can change at any time. Please note that each traveller is responsible to inform himself about the visa regulations. If in doubt, please contact the Chilean embassy in your country.

» What if I only need general information to organize a Chile trip on my own?

On our webpage you will find various links to websites providing all kind of information about Chile. Please request answers to general information on Chile on the corresponding website or from the Chilean National Tourist Board, Sernatur.

» What is the difference between "Seat-in-bus“ (SIB) tours and "Private tours“?

If travelling on one of our “Seat-in-Bus Tours” you will usually be joining an international group and travel for less money because departure dates and travel routes are fixed and more passengers are participating. This way costs per person are lower.

”Private Tours” are more flexible and comfortable, because you can determine travel date and the travel program. The costs are higher, because it is a private tour only for you and your group or your partner, incl. your own private guide. With this tour you have a maximum of personalized service, quality and flexibility.

» Is it safe to travel in Chile?

Chile is the safest country in Latin America! There is no need for extra precautions. Minor criminal acts and pick pocketing may occur in big cities, but are seldom in Chile. Violent assaults of tourists are unknown. Health & Hygiene standards correspond to the ones in Europe and are very high compared to the conditions in Latin America. There are no dangerous or poisonous animals in Chile!
