Day 1: Easter Island Arrival
Upon arrival at the airport, you will be transferred to your hotel.

Day 2: Hiking Rano Raruko and Ahu Tongariki
You will be picked up at your hotel by your guide and driven to the southern coast to visit representative examples of unrestored ceremonial platforms ("ahu" in Rapa Nui): Ahu Vaihu in the bay of Hanga Te'e and Akahanga, where the famous king Hotu Matua is supposedly buried. You will proceed to the Ara O Te Moai where the statues were moved from the quarry to the southern coast. You will then arrive at the quarry itself, called Rano Raraku; where almost all 900 stone statues were produced, 397 of them still lie or stand on the slopes of the extinct volcano with its crater lake. After lunch at the picnic area you will walk to Ahu Tongariki (restored with 15 Moais) that was the most recent and extensive restoration project on the island. After another drive you will visit the eastern coast, the Ahu Te Pito Kura, and the "Navel of the World". Finally, you will go on to the beach of Anakena with its restored Ahus Nau Nau and Ature Huke. There you will have the opportunity to swim in the warm Pacific Ocean. Back to the hotel. (B,BL)

Day 3: Orongo Biking Excursion & Tahai Horseback Riding
You will start your biking trip from your hotel first to the ceremonial site of Tahai; past the cemetery and ride through the village before arriving at the base of the Rano Kau Volcano. Here you will begin biking up the slopes of the extinct volcano through small forests with beautiful views of the coast and the open Pacific Ocean. You will also enjoy the spectacular view of the whole island and its distinct geological features. At the end of your trail you will arrive at a viewpoint overlooking the beautiful

crater lake of Rano Kau. Continuing you biking trip, you will drive to the ceremonial village of Orongo where the birdman competition took place. You will see the spectacular petroglyphs related to this cult and, from a viewpoint, the 3 tiny islands situated in front of the coast. Here you will exchange your bike for a car and drive down to Ahu Vinapu (not restored) and the Ana Kai Tangata cave with its paintings before returning to the hotel. In the afternoon you will go horseback riding for approximately 3 hours. An experienced Spanish-speaking guide will pick you up at the hotel and you will start riding along the north western coast of the island, passing the ceremonial village of Tahai. Along the way you will visit caves and then arrive at the Ahu Akivi. You will rest here before riding back to the hotel. (B)

Day 4: Full-day Trekking North Loop
In a car you will drive along the west coast to the Ahu Tepeu. Here you will set out on a hike along the almost untouched northern and northeastern coast to the beach of Anakena. On the way you will visit ceremony sites, caves, and petroglyphs. After about 6 hours you will arrive at the beach and be able to enjoy a swim and a picnic lunch. You will be picked up and taken back to the village in a vehicle. Overnight at your hotel. (B, BL)

Day 5: Snorkeling
The waters around Rapa Nui are famous for excellent visibility and agreeable temperatures throughout the year. Go out in a boat and see the underwater world of Rapa Nui. The diving center provides all equipment necessary for your 2.5-hour snorkeling adventure. The afternoon is at your disposal. Overnight at your hotel. (B)

Day 6: Easter Island Departure
After breakfast you will be taken to Matavari International Airport. (B)
