Day 1: Puerto Natales (or
Cerro Castillo) - El Calafate
From Puerto Natales (or from
Cerro Castillo when coming from
Torres del Paine) you will drive to
Cerro Castillo where you cross
the border into Argentina. You
will start an interesting drive
through the Patagonian Pampa
to the town of El Calafate. Look
out for groups of ņandus (ostriches)
crossing the road and see
condors high up in the sky.
El Calafate is located beautifully
on the shores of the immense
Lake Argentina. Overnight in El
Calafate.
Day 2: Perito Moreno
Glacier
Today you will drive into the Parque
Nacional Los Glaciares, one
of the most amazing national
parks in South America, with
more than 40 of the Southern Ice
Field's glaciers. You will see the
most famous and interesting one,
the Perito Moreno Glacier, one
of last glaciers in the world that
is still growing. You will get as
close as about 200 meters /
656 ft to the immense wall of ice
from where huge ice rocks often
tumble down into the lake. Walk
numerous pathways to observe
the glacier from different angles
and take some fabulous pictures.
In the afternoon you will return to
El Calafate for your overnight. (B)

Day 3: El Calafate -
Puerto Natales
After breakfast, you will start
your drive back to Puerto Natales
and have another opportunity
to observe local wildlife. You
will arrive at your hotel in Puerto
Natales in the afternoon. Overnight
in Puerto Natales. (B)
Day 4: Puerto Natales -
Punta Arenas
After breakfast you will drive
three hours to the airport in Punta
Arenas. (B)
