The Awasi is a new intimate luxury-in-the-desert hotel that, ranks with South America’s best retreats. This new boutique hotel promises true luxury and mixes local construction – stone, adobe and wood – with a chic bar, wide, comfortable outdoor lounges, fine dining and is limited to only 8 generous suites in order to ensure the privacy and comfort of their guests. The 8 dwellings which differ only in so far as to total area, format (rectangular or round) and bed size (queen, wide, etc.) and location. These differences notwithstanding, each room has at least 46 m2 / 500 square feet of its own. Despite its seeming remoteness, the hotel is just a five minute walk from San Pedro’s central plaza. The different rooms are spacious and have their private yard with solarium, outdoor shower and reading armchair. There is a swimming pool with comfortable chaise longue for relaxing and enjoyment. The in-house Chef has designed a varied menu, which by using ingredients that are exclusive to this zone (such as purple potatoes, patasca, quinoa or chañar) and which for thousands of years have been part of the diet of the indigenous people, will let you discover and enjoy new aromas and flavours.

AWASI ACTIVITIES & OUTINGS
Awasi packages range from 3 to 5 day stays. All of them include: full board (breakfast, lunch, appetizers and dinner), alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and transfer from and to Calama airport as well as the excursions. Customized private explorations are offered daily, which means that the guests lodged in each of the Awasi dwellings may have a guide and vehicle at their disposal for whichever of the outings or walks they find most attractive, without having to adjust to the pace or preference of other guests. In this way, each excursion can be tailored to the interests, objectives and physical condition of each guest. There are plenty of options to choose from: Visits to El Tatio Geysers, Salar de Atacama to see flamingos, the Moon Valley, Chiu Chiu, Toconao and Quebrada de Jerez, Plateau of Turi, Pukara Lasana and the highland lakes Miscanti and Miñiques. Awasi guides continually organize expeditions with the help of inhabitants from the native community in order to discover new landscapes and points of interest for guests. Excursions are in comfortable and modern 4WD vehicles, which are equipped with both communication and GPS systems allowing guests to reach places that are not easily accessible. Hiking tours, mountain biking tours, horseback riding tours and cultural tours to the surroundings are also offered.
