This exclusive adventure trip takes
you deep into the woods of the
Andes to a unique and exceptional
camp, the EcoCamp of Nevados
de Sollipulli. With its 5 individual
domes for guests, it sets
new standards in adventure
tourism with a touch of comfort.
The domes are not comparable to
tents since they include beds, central
heating, wooden floors and
exterior private bathrooms, but
they will not isolate you from the
natural surroundings as a classical
hotel would. Get in touch with
nature!
Day 1: Temuco - Nevados
de Sollipulli EcoCamp
You will be picked up in Temuco in
a 4x4 vehicle and pass the towns
of Cunco and Melipeuco before
leaving the main road. As you follow
the River Carrilafquén up to
the camp, several beautiful waterfalls
of different shapes and sizes
alongside the final kilometers of
this 3-hour drive complete the scenic
landscape. Dinner and overnight
at the EcoCamp Sollipulli. (D)
Day 2: Woods of
Nevados de Sollipulli
Today you will enjoy an early
breakfast before you start for a
hike through an ancient wood of
lenga, coigue and ñirre trees,
accompanied by an expert
guide who will teach you about
the local flora. After 4 hours you
will arrive again at the camp
and have lunch. In the afternoon,
you will leave for another short
hike into pristine woods and look
out for the black woodpecker,
chucao, and other typical birds
of this region. Take your swimsuit
with you to relax in a thermal
spring (25 °C / 77 ºF) before
you will return to the camp for
dinner. In a short presentation,
you will hear how the Nevado
de Sollipulli Volcano came into
being. Overnight at the Eco-
Camp. (B,L,D)

Day 3: The Mystery
of the Volcanoes
Alter breakfast you will go on an
educational hike to a lava flow,
1,000 years of age; and you will
see how nature re-conquers the
barren black stones of the lava
after a destructive outbreak.
Hugo Moreno, geologist and
expert on volcanoes, will lecture
for an hour on volcanology, using
the surrounding scenery as a perfect
example for geological phenomena.
You will return to the
camp for lunch. On the second
hike of the day, you will walk
30 minutes to a fantastic waterfall
of 50 meter / 165 feet height
that has formed a natural pool
through its force. If you wish,
you will be able to take a swim in
this pool. Overnight at the Eco-
Camp. (B,L,D)
Day 4: Conguillío National
Park - Temuco
For your final day, you will
be driven to the Conguillío
National Park which is considered
to be one of the most beautiful
and untouched parks in
Chile. Lunch will be served at
Vista Hermosa or you can enjoy
a picnic. In the afternoon you
will explore the "Sendero de los
Carpinteros", accompanied by
a park ranger who will introduce
you to the wide variety of local
plant and animal species. A
transfer then takes you to the airport
of Temuco. (B, L)
