Staying at Lakutaia Hotel – the southernmost hotel of the world - allows you to visit places of unparallel beauty. You will enjoy the Majestic Darwin Mountain, crowned by innumerable glaciers. In the southernmost point of Tierra del Fuego Island, you will be able to navigate through intricate channels, breathtaking fjords and the mythical Cape Horn, landmark of sailboats lovers from all over the world. Lakutaia Hotel offers 24 comfortable double rooms with private bath and central heating. Facilities include an excellent restaurant with international and typical regional cuisine, spacious halls for a comfortable stay, internet area and a nice library where guests can look for all the topics related to ethnic groups, botany, fauna and geography of this southern region. Mountain bikes and kayaks are also available at the hotel.

Day 1 Punta Arenas – Puerto Williams

Flight to Puerto Williams and a continuing overflight of famous Cape Horn. After arrival at Puerto Williams airfield, transfer to nearby Lakutaia Hotel for lunch. In the evening you will trek to the summit of La Bandera Hill, from where you will have a spectacular view of the Beagle Channel and the city; returning to Lakutaia, the tour guide will give an informative briefing about the area and its rich history. Dinner. Lodging at Hotel Lakutaia in Puerto Williams. (Lunch/Dinner)

Day 2 The Darwin Route: Sailing to Wulaia

After breakfast, travel by bus to Puerto Navarino; a Chilean Navy base before the founding of Puerto Williams. Today we will visit the remains of large concrete houses, some 20 bungalows and a plaque remembering the tragedy of 1859, during which 6 English missionaries died at the hands of the Yagan Indians. We will also visit the Yamana Cemetery. Afterwards, we will drive along the Charles Darwin Route, passing the places Darwin went to. We will then begin sailing on the Victory Schooner to Wulaia, a site of special beauty off the north-west coast of Navarino Island, cradle of great part of the Anglican missionary work on the Yamana people. Once we disembark in this beautiful place, we climb up the mountain to contemplate the impressive landscape of Hoste Island (which inspired Jules Verne to his book “The survivors of the Jonathan”), the Wollaston Islands and Nassau Bay. After a typical Patagonian barbeque for lunch, departure to Puerto Ambarino. In the evening transfer back to Lakutaia. Dinner. Overnight Hotel Lakutaia in Pto Williams. (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

Day 3 Horseback Riding

After breakfast we start our full day horse back ride to Cascadas los Bronces. On the way we stop for a good picnic lunch with panoramic views of the Beagle Channel. Back to Lakutaia. Dinner. Overnight Hotel Lakutaia in Puerto Williams. (Alternative activities may be arranged on request for this day: e.g.: trekking or hiking) (Breakfast/Lunchbox/Dinner)

Day 4 Omora Park – Punta Arenas

After breakfast, a guided tour to the ecological Omora Park is scheduled. The Omora Park allows you to appreciate in a beautiful circuit, a synthesis of the diversity of the sub Antarctic ecosystems. The tour is completed with a visit to Kipa Akar, a factory of Yagan handcraft, located in Villa Ukika in Puerto Williams. Transfer to the airport and return flight Puerto Williams to Punta Arenas.

A speedboat service connects Navarino Island/Chile and Ushuaia/Argentina, please request additional tailor-made itineraries using this fast and reliable service. Travel time between Ushuaia and Navarino Island is approximately 1 hour.

Program includes: Transportation from Punta Arenas to Puerto Williams (air) or from Ushuaia (sea) to Puerto Williams, transportation from and to airport, Cape Horn overflight, 3 overnights at Lakutati with all meals that are indicated in schedule as well as breakfast (Meals at the Lodge include appetizers, three courses and our choice of house wine as well as other non-alcoholic beverages), excursions and mentioned activities with English speaking guide.

Cancellation fees: Prior to 120 days no fee / 119 to 31 days: 250 USD per pax; 30 to 16 days 30% of total amount / 15 to 0 days 100% of total amount.

As an alternative, there’s the possibility to start this program on Monday. The over flight will continue to be operated on Tuesday meanwhile Monday would be used as one of the activity choice days.
