Day 1 Temuco - Pucon
Upon arrival in Temuco, your guide will await you and take you to Pucon at Lake Villarrica. On the way a short stop to the historical city of Villarrica, one of the first Spanish settlements in Chile will give us a first impression. A drive along the lake of Villarrica will take you to the base of the imposing and active Villarrica Volcano, which we will visit, viewing the deep volcanic caves that were formed when lava cut its way into the rock. The solid lava rocks inside the caves are of unusual shapes and will inspire your imagination. In the afternoon our journey continues to Pucon. This small, cozy town founded by German immigrants and set within a stunning environment is a great starting point for a wide range of outdoor activities. Overnight stay in or close to Pucon.
Day 2 Lago Caburgua & Hot Springs
After breakfast you will set out for Lake Caburgua, a small mountain lake with a splendid white beach and view onto active volcanoes. The next stop will be the Ojos del Caburga, impressive waterfalls formed by underground rivers and with an especially impressive colour on sunny days; a great spot for picnicking and a dip into the water. In the afternoon you will head to the valley of the Liucura River, which is famous for its thermal waters and hot springs. You will visit one of the attractive hot springs and be able to enjoy a relaxing bath before returning to Pucon in the afternoon. Overnight in or close to Pucon. (Breakfast)
Day 3 Huerquehue National Park
After a good breakfast we will go for a beautiful hike in one of the surrounding national parks, Huerquehue. This half-day hike along a gradually ascending trail takes you through the different layers of the Valdivian rainforest to reach the impressive "amphitheater" of thousands of Araucaria trees (Monkey Puzzle tree) at 1,200 meters / 3,940 feet above sea level. Once you arrive at the "theater," you will walk past three crystal clear lakes. Here you can rest, enjoy your picnic and go for a refreshing swim in the purest water. In the afternoon you will drive back to your hotel. Overnight stay in or close to Pucon. (Breakfast/Lunchbox)
Day 4 Pucon - Temuco
After breakfast you will drive back to the airport of Temuco to board your connecting flight. (Breakfast)
